Hurricane Helene

If you have been watching any sort of national television of late, it would be hard to miss the news of Hurricane Helene that is currently taking place in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and surrounding states. The hurricane has taken streets and turned them into debris. The hurricane has affected so many lives in so many different ways.


Some have lost their houses, cars, or other personal belongings. But others have lost their lives. The death toll of the hurricane is up to at least 130. Most of the deaths coming out of North Carolina. 3 million customers were without power on Saturday the 28th. Winds reached up to 140 MPH and was labeled as a category 4 hurricane. The hurricane has caused plenty of damage along with flashfloods that has made streets vanish. 600 people are currently missing in North Carolina. People are trapped and surrounded by water. CNN says Joe Biden will fly over the city to survey the damage on Wednesday. 


This is just a truly devastating situation that comes with living in such beautiful states that are close to open waters,  Could you imagine fighting water for a daily basis until this storm is over. Well, that is what citizens of affected communities are doing. People are losing their houses, family members, friends, and way more that none of us that aren’t affected by this monster could ever imagine. That is why there are multiple ways where you can help those affected, such as paying towards charity to help relief to those families that are being affected as well as the first responders that are trying theirr hardest to save peoples lives. Words can’t express how scary situations these can be. These can affect families for very long times, even for the rest of their lives.
